Purpose:

Establish an addiction recovery for women and youth, dealing with drug and alcohol

addictions, to provide a safe haven for individuals seeking assistance in changing their way of life, all around the Okanagan.

Conceptualization:

Utilizing 24,000 SQ. FT. providing services in a safe, caring, homelike facility which is integrated into the Vernon community, helping women and youth turn their lives around, to break the cycle of addiction.

Metanoia will have a welcoming feel for a sense of belonging, created with texture to add warmth and contrast between spaces, while helping with way finding issues common in large facilities. The addiction recovery centre space is bright, modern, inviting and safe, creating the healing environment for sustainable recovery. Metanoia’s clients are provided with an exceptional opportunity to reclaim their lives.

 

The intent is for them to participate in recreational activities to develop a long-term recovery plan that fills the void of consuming substances, well starting a healthy lifestyle for themselves and for their children. The goal is for them to leave feeling emotionally strong, personally accountable and enthused about transitioning back into the community for 
lifelong recovery.
